Georgetown Community Hospital Welcomes Dr. Caleb Dawson, Robotically Trained General Surgeon

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (September 4, 2025)Georgetown Community Hospital (GCH) is pleased to announce that Caleb Dawson, MD, has joined Central Kentucky General Surgery. Dr. Dawson, a Kentucky native, is a board-eligible general surgeon with advanced training in robotic-assisted surgery using the da Vinci Surgical System, as well as laparoscopic surgical techniques.

Dr. Dawson’s surgical expertise includes procedures of the gallbladder, colon, small bowel, and hernia repair, as well as thoracic surgeries. His training and experience in robotic-assisted surgery bring enhanced precision, minimally invasive options and improved recovery times for patients in the Central Kentucky region.

He attended the University of Kentucky for his undergraduate degree, followed by receiving his medical degree from the University of Louisville. Caleb Dawson, MD, went on to complete a general surgery residency at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, VA.

Outside of his practice, Dr. Dawson enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, traveling, and cheering on the University of Kentucky’s sporting teams.

Dr. Dawson is now accepting new patients at Central Kentucky General Surgery. He will also be providing surgical services and outpatient appointments at Bluegrass Community Hospital in Versailles.
